Why We Started

Founded by a team of botanists and AI researchers in 2024, Plant ID was born out of a simple frustration: "Why is my plant dying, and what is its name?" We realized that while there are thousands of plant care books, most aren't in your pocket when you're at the nursery or in your garden.

Our Technology

Our AI engine is trained on the Planty-50M dataset, featuring over 50 million verified specimens. We combine visual recognition with local climate data to provide care guides that actually work for your specific location.
